The internet was of some visionary thinking by people in the 1960's. In the olden days they mostly used the internet for research add development in scientifc and military fields. Now people use the internet more. They now use the internet for games emailing and research.

A telegram is a message sent by telegraph. This is a way of sending a message over a long distance using electric currents along wires or by radio. The messages are normally short. They were used alot in the war and also in emergencies.
MOTAT
When my class went to MOTAT. We the first thing we did was have morning tea. Then we went to a room with old computers, cameras, phones and codes. The lady talked about how you used them and what they did. My favourite was the old phones because they were really big and as the years went on they got smaller and smaller.
Then we did the voyager. I had really fun time because it was like a rollercoaster. We got to do the voyager twice. YAY!!!.
After that we went on the mirrer mase it was so much fun I got lost lots of times. I went on the mirrer mase two times. The mirrer mase was my favourite part.
Finally we did the kiwi trail. On the kiwi trail we had to find places at MOTAT. We had a map to use. It was a really fun day.

"In the early years letters were how you communicated".
"Letters could take weeks to get to their destination".
"They travelled by ship".
"In later years there were telegrams and telex, and more recently faxes".
How do we communicate with people around the world today?
Now there is the internet and cellphones. You can use sites like skype where you can see the person you are communicating with. You can talk into the computer and they can hear you. There is also email and facebook.You can email someone and the next time they go on their email acout the email will come up. Facebook is where you can creat your own page and put what ever you want. People can comment on your page.

We finally got to design our groups cleaning product. The name is BUBBLY BUTTERFLY. we came up with the name together. All the ingredints are natural so we reached our goal which is to make a natural cleaning product.

We have tested alot more things to see how much bacteria is on them.We have tested thing like Teachers keys, My tonge, 10c, Worm bin, Sponge, Classroom door knob, Girls bathroom floor, White board pen, A few cleaning products and Vinger.

At school we were learning about bacteria and finally we are going to see them in really life. Mis Ellis chose Dominic to see how much bacteria was on his hands.

In school we have made speechs. Mine was about why you should eat chocolate. Your speech has to be 2 min 30sec to 3min. I'm sharing my speech on friday.

I went on the ski slope feeling really excited. I went from side to side all the way down the hill. Just before the end I let it rip. It was really fun and I wanted to do it again.

It was really fun making masks last week. We had lots of stuff from other class and the rest went to the art room. All of our masks look great when they were finished. I got to spray paint mine red because I am a the goodess of fire. There were five things you could be and they are the goodess of fire (me) earth goodess of wind fire and villagers. this week we are sorting our dances my groups have made up a dance and it has lots of cool moves. our group has a really good dance because our teacher helped us. we haven't finished yet.
cultural sharing day
we had a cultural sharing day last friday it was very fun listening to everyones thing. I did mine about this book which is very special. and its about my family.
DANCE
We have been doing dance over the last few weeks. We have created our own imaginery bubbles that we dance in. Basically we do 8 shapes and come in a cool way and come out a cool way. We do 4 twisted shapes and 4 symetrical. It is very fun but kind of hard to think of shapes. we have been listing to James Brown.

who wanted to play but no way
no one wanted to

garden to table
Garden to table is fun because you get to cook and garden. My favourite is gardening because you can pick vegetables for the cook's or plant some plants or get compost for the plants. We cook one week then after three weeks we garden. Then after all the gardening and cooking we get to eat what the cooks have made. When we are done we have to do the dishes which is not fun!
Wet on Wet and Wet on Dry
Last week on friday my class did colour techniques. My favourite was wet on wet. and today we did our real copy. We also skeched our animal we are going to do. We spent about six days. My favourite part was when we did our backround because we mixed colours together. It was relly fun.
EOTC WEEK
A few weeks ago the year fives had eotc week. First we went to a Marae. I learned a lot, like they had a fire and all the patterns were distroyed. The patterns were interesting, they said that each pattern had a meaning. The girls got to learn a poi dance and the boys did a long haka. I had a lot of fun.
On Wednesday we did Orienteering at the Waitarata Reserve. They gave every group a map and a piece of paper to clip when you found the hidden location. My group found the first one hard and the second easy.
Next we went to the Wavepools. The wavepools were so much fun. There was lots to do like jumping into the deep end of the pool, the water slide and the Lazy river. I enjoyed playing in the pool.
My favourite was Tree Adventures. It was fun to be up high and walk across the ropes. When I was on course four I got scared because it was really hard but fun.
